Re: dyn4j v3.2.0 Release Candidate

Jut to let you know that I have updated to rc4 and the Iterator solution works fine for me. :) I'll keep working with this version and let you know if I find any bugs, but everything looks fine after a quick run through this morning.

Re: dyn4j v3.2.0 Release Candidate

Ok, thanks William. I'll update to rc3 and keep developing with that version.

Happy to help with the testing btw. Seems only fair when you have taken the time to write a handy Java physics engine. ;)

Re: dyn4j v3.2.0 Release Candidate

I spoke too soon. In the code snippet below I get the error message underneath. "PlanetManager.java:164" refers to the line of code with the for() statement where I have added the comment " --> CRASHES HERE ". The for loop is removing bodies from the World(). There are 4 in the r...

Re: dyn4j v3.2.0 Release Candidate

Ok, I couldn't resist. I've updated my large game project. It was quite painless actually. Other than the changes pointed out in the original post, I noted a couple of other changes, which were: Body.shiftCoordinates() replaced with Body.shift() The methods of CollisionListener have changed and the ...

Re: dyn4j v3.2.0 Release Candidate

Hi I have run my raycast stress test with 10000 rays with rc2 and this works without any problems. Using dyn4j 3.1.11 I get average raycast times between 0.0055ms and 0.0075ms. Using 3.2.0-rc2 I get averages consistently around 0.0032ms. That's on a par with the box2D raycast stress test ( https://w...

dyn4j raycast stress test; 10000 rays on 100 objects [FINAL]

Following on from my previous post here: http://forum.dyn4j.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=186 , I am posting the completed version of my raycast test program. This casts 10000 rays in a World with 100 objects, which should be comparable with the box2d stress test with 10000 rays posted on youtube here...

Re: Dyn4j ray cast performance test - 10000 rays

Great, thank you! :) I had thought "the local anchor point for the body" meant it should be in local co-ordinates, i.e. local to the Body itself as opposed to in World co-ordinates. I knew it would be something I had done wrong! When I've added all the bodies in the box2d version and irone...

Re: Dyn4j ray cast performance test - 10000 rays

Just as an experiment to see what impact different values of x and y in mouseJoint.setTarget() have on the source Body, I hard-coded the lines below in my program and used a fixed value for x (300.0) and 3 different values for y (150,0, 100.0 and 50.0). The results printed to System.out are shown in...

Re: Dyn4j ray cast performance test - 10000 rays

Hi zoom and William, thanks for both your replies. I've broken this down into sections to go through each suggestion you have made. These seem to focus on the translation between mouse, screen and dyn4j co-ordinates so I have done a series of tests to check that these are aligned correctly. The shor...
